How It Works

A mechanical fix for a mechanical problem.

The Mechanism

Your Nasal Valve Collapses Under Load

The nasal valve is the narrowest point of your airway. The harder you inhale, the more negative pressure pulls its walls inward. At exactly the intensity where you need your nose most, it narrows. That’s why you can nasal-breathe through drilling but end up mouth-breathing in a hard roll.

The Strip Holds It Open

Flexible spring bands on the strip pull outward on the sides of your nose, bracing the valve against that collapse. In studies of external nasal dilators, that lift opens the valve about 31% wider and measurably lowers breathing resistance.

Nasal Breathing Stays Available Longer

Nasal breathing is the pace gauge: keep it and you’re at a pace you can hold. A braced valve raises the intensity you can hold before your body forces your mouth open.

How To Apply

01

Clean & Dry

Wash your nose area with soap and water. Dry completely. Any oils or moisture will reduce adhesion.

02

Position

Place the strip across the bridge of your nose, just above the flare of your nostrils. Center it for even lift.

03

Press Firmly

Press down along the entire length of the strip for 10 seconds. Ensure complete contact with skin.

04

Train

That’s it. The strip stays in place through your session. Remove slowly after training.

Pro Tip:

Apply your strip 5 minutes before training to allow the adhesive to reach maximum bond strength. Remove slowly using warm water to avoid skin irritation.

When To Use CombatStrips

Hard Rounds

Sparring days and comp-pace rolls. The sessions where your nose usually gives out first.

Competition Day

Multiple matches, short rest. One strip lasts the whole day’s bracket.

Long Sessions

Open mats, seminars, two-a-days. Anywhere breathing easy for longer beats breathing hard early.

Best Practices

DO: Apply to clean, dry skin

Maximum adhesion requires proper surface preparation.

DO: Use during high-intensity sessions

Greatest benefit when you’re pushing cardiovascular limits.

DO: Remove slowly after use

Warm water helps. Protect your skin for tomorrow’s training.

DON’T: Reuse strips

Adhesive is single-use. Each strip is designed for one session.

DON’T: Apply over moisturizer or sunscreen

These create a barrier that prevents proper bonding. Same goes for makeup left on from work. Clean it off first.

Try It For A Session

You’ll know by the second round whether it’s still on your nose. Ours will be.
